A fun mid-century oil on canvas depicting a group of ladies out on the town in Paris. Given the hairstyles, it was probably painted during the swinging ‘60s.
The artist, Abe Wickstrom, has created the scene with bold confident brushwork and plenty of texture. It’s fascinating to see how he’s given us so much when most of the marks are simply vertical or horizontal.
The painting is signed in the lower right and housed within a frame that’s probably its original.
