An easy-going oil on canvas depicting a street in the picturesque village of Alstad in Skåne County, Sweden. The artist, Gustav Berlin (1905-1988), has used a broad brush to casually daub in the paint, which seems to give the piece a relaxed atmosphere.

Berlin was born in Södra Sandby, around 30 minutes from Alstad, and he studied at the Skånska Målarskolan in Malmö.

The painting is signed/dated in the lower right.
