A playful midcentury oil on board depicting a view across sunlit fields in Sweden. The artist, Sven Moëll (1894-1974) has used a bright high-key palette to flood the scene with light.
Moëll was a painter and illustrator that hailed from Gothenburg and studied in his hometown along with Copenhagen and Paris. His works are often brimming with colour and life - reminiscent of the impressionists but with less fidelity.
He’s represented in several public collections including at the Gothenburg Art Museum.
The painting is signed in the lower right and housed within its original frame.
